Travel Handmade [kick off!]
It’s officially time to kick off Travel Handmade! Whether you’re traveling a couple miles or hundreds of miles, wouldn’t it be fun to have even just one pretty new handmade bag to take along with you to Sewing Summit? We sure think so! And if you can’t make it to Sewing Summit this year, perhaps you need a new make up bag or hand-sewing pouch or a weekend bag for that family trip to the beach!
Like we mentioned last week, we have lined up a great group of The Sewing Summit teachers and staff to bring you a wide variety of finished bags and pattern reviews for all sewing levels! We will be sharing all sorts of bags–from carry on bags, to zippy pouches, to luggage tags, and everything in between! Plus, there might even be a few giveaways along the way!
Here’s the TH schedule:
Tuesday, August 16–Duffel Bags with Jeni Baker of In Color Order
Wednesday, August 17–Carry On Bags with Megan Bohr of Canoe Ridge Creations
Thursday, August 18–Cosmetic Bags with Jana Nielsen of Izzy and Ivy Designs and Erin Singleton of Two More Seconds
Friday, August 19–Electronics/Laptop Bags with Amy Ellis of Amy’s Creative Side
Saturday, August 20–Travel Purses with Angela Mitchell of Fussy Cut and Amy Smart of Diary of a Quilter
Sunday, August 21–Refashioned Bags with Jeni Baker of In Color Order
Monday, August 22–Tote Bags with Dana Bolyard of Old Red Barn Co. and Jessica Berrett of Urban Patchwork
Tuesday, August 23–Travel Sewing Bags with Amanda Jennings of MsMcPorkchop Quilts and Susan Petersen of Freshly Picked
Wednesday, August 24–Travel Accessories with Natalia Bonner of Piece N Quilt and Melissa Esplin of I Still Love You
Then, on Thursday, August 25 we will be hosting a Travel Handmade Linky Party for all of you! Show us your pretty handmade travel bags! We would love for you to link up all sorts of bag related things—your own tutorials and finished bags (flickr pictures work too!).

Awesome! I just love bags. I have an idea for a quilt block case! I will try to put together a little tute for the one I make.
I’m excited for this! Can’t wait to see what is in store for us :)
Hi,
Do you have a pattern for a take-along sewing bag?
Thanks!!
