Travel Handmade with The Sewing Summit

Welcome to day six of Travel Handmade, Refashioned Bags! We hope you’ve been enjoying this series so far! Today we’re bringing you a collection of refashion bags. What’s a refashion you ask? These bags are made by recycling something else, usually something already useful, into a bag! Now that doesn’t just mean trash, although we have found some bags made of candy wrappers, grocery bags and even a trash bag! It also means, bags made from an old sweater, jeans, even pillowcases! It’s time to think outside of the box! Evaluate your donation pile, with a little imagination, most anything could be turned into a unique bag.

We’re all trying to be a little more green these days, and creating from something that’s unwanted is a great way to do that! Not only that, but to make something beautiful from something discarded is simply a wonderful thing!

And now, let’s get on to the bags! Head on over to Jeni’s blog, In Color Order for tutorial and giveaway!  Jeni will be teaching Creative Fabric Selection at The Sewing Summit this October! For her bag, she’s using a vintage pillowcase!

Next, inspiration photos and tutorial roundup! :)
