Announcing the BurdaStyle classroom!
We have some fun news today! We are excited to share with you that we are partnering with BurdaStyle.com and Gretchen Hirsch of Gertie’s New Blog for Better Sewing to bring The Sewing Summit attendees an exclusive opportunity to learn garment construction from one of the leading names in the industry in our BurdaStyle classroom!

BurdaStyle is well known within the sewing community for their fantastic offering of patterns and inspiration for garments, and the way they constantly challenge sewists to try something new and stretch out of their comfort zones. Gretchen is a skilled sewing enthusiast that works closely with BurdaStyle as a Brand Ambassador, and has a love for all things retro. The classes offered in the BurdaStyle classroom will be excellent for those that want to learn more about fashion garment sewing, different materials used in garment construction, hand sewing techniques, and getting a beautiful finish to their handmade garments.
Gretchen will be sharing her knowledge and insight in four classes:
Essential Hand Stitches for Garment Making
Tailoring by Hand 101
Getting a Perfect Vintage Fit
Garment Fabrics from Angora to Zibeline
You can read the class descriptions and get more information about BurdaStyle on our BurdaStyle classroom page.
Already registered? In the coming weeks these classes will be added to our registration process and those of you that have already registered will have a chance to choose one or all of these classes in your itinerary for the weekend!
The countdown is on – we can’t wait to meet all of you!

The Sewing Summit sounds like such a fun and inspiring event. Sorry I won’t be able to be there. Any plans to record presentations, round tables, etc. and make them available as podcasts for those that can’t attend?
I too am soooo sorry sewing summit doesn’t fit into my Fall teaching schedule, you’re setting up such stupendously fun classes!
Ooh! I’m so excited!
Wow, I so wish I could go! So many talented teachers and interesting classes to take!
I am so excited!! Looking forward to these!
